Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi

The Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi was formed in 1999. When Paramjit Singh Sarna distanced himself from Akali Dal Badal on the basis of different ideology. Sarna was against the RSS factor in the Akali Dal. Gurcharan Singh Tohra backed the party with his support. Since 2002 the party is in control of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Winning the Last elections in 2007 with 27 seats out of the 42. Since its formation SADD has been fighting for the rights of sikhs such as cancellation of the blacklist, giving hindu and sikh refugees Indian Citizenship, Getting death penalty of Prof Davinderpal Singh Bhullar converted into life term and Constituting the Anand Karaj Act - A Separate Marriage Act for Sikhs.
